FBI Executes Search at Fulton County Election Facility

Federal agents executed a search at Fulton County's election hub on Wednesday in what appears to be an escalation of the Trump administration's efforts to investigate alleged voter fraud in the Georgia County that President Trump has long claimed cost him the 2020 presidential election.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were seen Wednesday afternoon entering the Fulton County Election Hub and Operation Center, Fox News first reported. The facility, which opened in 2023, is used to store election equipment and houses offices for various Fulton County agencies.

A source familiar with the investigation told CBS News that the search is related to the 2020 election. Trump and his allies have long attributed his narrow loss to Joe Biden in Georgia to fraud in Fulton County specifically. The Justice Department sued Fulton County last month for access to voting records and a judge has not yet ruled in the case.

Trump and several of his allies were criminally charged with election interference in Georgia and Trump was booked at the Fulton County jail. The case was ultimately dropped after Trump won reelection.

Some discrepancies in Fulton County voting records were discovered after the 2020 election but the state's Republican leaders affirmed that their investigation did not yield any evidence of decisive fraud. Trump then urged election officials to help him "find" the requisite number of votes to overturn Biden's victory in the state during a phone call that was recorded.

Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis (D) oversaw the election interference case against Trump but was removed after details emerged regarding her romantic relationship Nathan Wade, whom she had appointed special prosecutor in the case despite his lack of experience.

The Trump Justice Department also investigated alleged voter fraud in Georgia after the 2020 election and determined there was no evidence that fraud impacted the results.

The search comes weeks after Trump vowed to arrest those responsible for the voter fraud he believes cost him the 2020 election. “People will soon be prosecuted for what they did,” he said.

The Department of Justice did not immediately respond to National Review's request for comment regarding the purpose and details of the search, however the FBI told National Review in a statement that the search is "court-authorized law enforcement activity."
