$25,000 to Go

“It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant,” Ronald Reagan once observed. “It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.” One of the things that the left regards as the gospel truth is the fallacious notion that their progressive compatriots are incapable of political violence -- at least, not the scale of the bloodshed meted out by the violent right.

Not long ago, I asked you to consider contributing to National Review to help us in the fight against this pernicious myth. As a small token of our appreciation for your support, we are offering contributors who donate $250 or more a free, signed copy of my new book, Blood and Progress: A Century of Left-Wing Violence in America. I’m thrilled to be able to say that we have had an overwhelming response.

A few days ago, Phil announced that we were targeting $150,000 in donations by the time our spring fundraiser closes this Thursday with the end of the month. And as of this writing, we have less than $25,000 to go toward that goal. I believe that with your help, we can get there. Any contribution, from $5 to $5,000, will bring us one step closer. And again, anybody who gives $250 or more will receive a free, signed copy of my book.

To say I’m grateful for all of your contributions to date is to undersell my immense appreciation. We could not do this vital work without your continued support. With it, we will keep doing what we’ve always done: providing you with clear-eyed analysis, principled conservative arguments, and a lively forum for discussion and debate where ideas matter.
