Going West, with Gratitude

Over the past three years at National Review, editors let me write about Catholicism, Israel, feminism, education, Gen Z slang, California politics, immigration, babies, America's oldest diner, and uranium mines. They helped me develop and refine my opinions and gave every question a thoughtful response. They indulged and protected the enthusiasm of a 23-year-old girl who always dreamed of writing for Bill Buckley's magazine.
I'm moving to California in a few weeks for another reporting adventure; today is my last day at NR. We have a tradition of posting goodbye notes — and usually people offer some sort of insightful knowledge. The only thing I can think to say is that I still can't believe that Rich Lowry knows my name, much less that he trusted me to write for National Review. What is even more astonishing, however, is that some of you actually read my work.
Signed: a most grateful, very happy warrior.
