Mets Should Bring Back Jewish Heritage Night

Political obsessives have been trying to get the New York Mets into hot water for a while now. The teams's star shortstop, Francisco Lindor, has a wife who likes and has appeared with the new mayor. There were (mostly false) rumors that the Mets clubhouse had been divided by politics last year. Most of this stuff should be ignored by fans.

But fans have noticed that, for a few years consecutively, there have been no named Jewish heritage nights at Citi Field, which used to host them annually. There will be heritage nights for the Irish, Puerto Ricans, Italians, Koreans, blacks, and a Pride Night. New York is a very Jewish city, much more so than it is Irish or Puerto Rican. What gives?

Rumors are that the Mets don't want to deal with policing antisemitic protests. The night would attract pro-Palestinian and antisemitic activists bringing signs or unfurling banners.

I think the Mets shouldn't let the bastards take this away from the city. Bags are inspected for contraband at every entrance already. It would not be difficult to intercept most of the disruptive signs and paraphernalia.
